Mother JoAnn Golatt Hill

 Background & Education
Mother JoAnn Golatt Hill is the widow of the late Minister David Hill.  They were blessed with one daughter and one son, a lovely daughter-in-love, and three lovingly energetic grandchildren.   She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Bethune Cookman College.  Additionally, she attended Boston University and Barry University for post graduate study.  After 36 years as an educator, she retired from the Miami-Dade Public School System.

Church Involvement & Past Experiences:
First Administrative Assistant to Pastor, Superintendent Paul Golatt, Jr. at Macedonia Church of God in Christ, Church Financial Secretary, Trustee Board Member, Holiday Program Coordinator, Organizer of the Concert, Junior and Senior Choirs, Revivalist, Motivator, Christian Women’s Council member,  Former Jurisdictional Sunshine Band President,  Personal Secretary for Jurisdictional Supervisors: Mother Gussie Gamble 1960-88 and Mother Mattie Moss 1988-98.  North Miami District Missionary 1988-98. She currently serves as the Jurisdictional Supervisor of Women, Eastern Florida Jurisdiction.  Mother JoAnn Golatt Hill’s appointment as Jurisdictional Supervisor of Women, gives her the opportunity to reach out to many women not just in the church, but outside of the church.   She has implemented a training program for women in ministry (MITI - Missionary In Training Institute).  This institute provides courses of study to enrich spiritual growth and development.  Students have the opportunity to attend courses in one of four locations: Fort Lauderdale, Fort Pierce, Avon Park & Daytona Beach, Florida. Mother Hill has traveled on Mission Trips to Okinawa, Japan , Germany, South Africa, London England, and Brazil with leaders of the International Women’s Department of the Church of God in Christ.   In 2002, she was appointed by Mother Willie Mae Rivers to the National Executive Board. During the Jurisdictional Women’s Convention (September 2001) she gathered baby items from the women in the Jurisdiction to distribute to families in need. She started the 43rd Jurisdictional Women's Convention by boarding a bus with other women in Eastern Florida.  Together they rode by several schools in Fort Lauderdale and had "Drive-By Prayers".  Under the supervision of Mother Rivers, Mother Hill presented her first book COGIC Auxiliaries, Bands, Units Strategies and Activities at the 53rd International Women's Convention. One of her utmost concerns is to motivate women to apply the scripture to their lives and to encourage them to become effective leaders in their churches.
